Russ Announces Run for State Treasurer

As Representative Todd Russ finishes his final term in the Legislature, he has set his sights on the State Treasurer’s Office. Russ announced Tuesday his intention to run for the statewide office.

“I am grateful for the leadership opportunities I have been given and the accomplishments during my time in the legislature. I believe my extensive background in banking and business, along with my understanding of the inner workings of state government, make me uniquely qualified to serve as Treasurer,” Russ said.

Russ has a 35 year career in banking. Before joining the Legislature, he was the president and CEO of Washita State Bank in Burns Flat. He also began management consulting with banks and businesses.

Russ serves as Chairman of the House Transportation Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee, along with other major committee assignments.

“It would be my honor to continue to serve the citizens of Oklahoma as their next State Treasurer. I hold the same conservative values as the vast majority of Oklahomans. I know the value of hard work and the importance of standing for Godly values and honest, ethical leadership,” Russ added.

Current Oklahoma State Treasurer Randy McDaniel announced previously he would not be running for re-election in 2022.
