Health Care Officials Call for Emergency Order to Help Hospitals Handle COVID Resurgence

Leaders from a handful of health care organizations are calling for an emergency order to be issued by Governor Stitt to help hospitals handle the latest surge of COVID-19 patients.

Tulsa World’s Kelsy Schlotthauer writes officials involved with the state’s health care system say younger people are taking up hospital beds and the rate of infection is picking up.

Governor Stitt has recently said he would not issue an emergency order despite the increasing COVID infections. The health care professionals say it is also a matter of personal responsibility to get vaccinated and take measures to avoid the virus.
