Disclosures, Database Reveal Congressional Delegation Holdings, Use of PPP

Two members of Oklahoma’s Congressional Delegation had business interests which accessed the federal Paycheck Protection Program.

The Oklahoman’s Chris Casteel writes a check between an annual financial disclosure required of Congress members and a ProPublica database shows Congressman Kevin Hern and Congressman Markwayne Mullin’s business holdings took out forgiven loans through the pandemic stimulus program.

Casteel also writes that one of Hern’s holdings which was granted a PPP loan, had also invested in stock just ahead of the program’s start.

Hern and Mullin do not have day to day input on how the companies are run.
