It was the House Armed Services Committee’s turn on Wednesday to question military officials about the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Congresswoman Stephanie Bice outlined that she wanted answers for the failure of President Biden’s plan to safely evacuate Americans and Afghan supporters from the country as the Taliban took over.
“Americans deserve to know the reasons for the catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan and today’s hearings were an opportunity to demand answers for the complete failure of President Biden’s actions,” Bice said. “We must also hold the intelligence community accountable for their role in this situation and discover if a failure to provide accurate or timely information played a part.”
During her part of the Q&A, Bice wanted to know what led to the choice to not use Bagram Air Base in the evacuation, as well as, if information from the intelligence community was accurate during the withdrawal.
