Rosino Named Senator of the Year by OCP

For his work on helping Oklahomans with intellectual and developmental disabilities to access support and services, the Oklahoma Community Based Providers (OCP) has named Senator Paul Rosino as its “Senator of the Year.”

Rosino serves as the chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee and has worked with others to help reduce the long waitlist for services from the Department of Human Services. Rosino also has championed finding ways to include those with disabilities in the work force.

“Our organization collaborates with the legislators on ways to better serve the developmentally disabled.  We network, brainstorm ideas and seek to educate people about these needs and what can be done to better meet them,” OCP Executive Director Pat Ownbey said.  “From the very beginning, Senator Rosino jumped right in and has worked to facilitate communication and cooperation as we seek new approaches to help those we serve live their best lives, and we are pleased to recognize that work.”

“I am humbled and honored to be recognized for our efforts to better assist these Oklahomans,” said Rosino in a statement announce the award.
