Governor’s Race Set

Governor Kevin Stitt and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister both won their parties’ nominations for the 2022 gubernatorial race.

Stitt beat three others to secure the Republican nomination in his re-election bid. He won with 69 percent of the vote. His closest challenger was Joel Kintsel at 14 percent.

Hofmeister faced former State Senator Connie Johnson for the Democrat nomination. She won with just under 61 percent of the vote.

Stitt and Hofmeister will be joined by Libertarian Natalie Bruno and Independent Ervin Yen on the November ballot.

The General Election is set for November 8.
