Stitt, Hofmeister Call for Deeper Look into CLO

Governor Kevin Stitt and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister are calling for deeper looks into the allegations of misappropriation of taxpayer funds and conflict of interest at the Commissioners of the Land Office (CLO). Stitt wants an audit, while Hofmeister has called for the resignation of CLO Secretary Elliot Chambers and for a law enforcement investigation.

Tulsa World’s Andrea Eger and Barbara Hoberock write Hofmeister says a second whistle-blower has come forward.

A Tulsa World investigation revealed a CLO internal auditor was terminated after raising concerns about a conflict of interest between Chambers’ duties as CLO Secretary and his personal investment relationship with Victorum Capital, a company contracted to consult on investments by CLO.
