O’Connor Joins Lawsuit Against Biden Administration Threat to Withhold Nutrition Assistance over Transgender Policy

Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor has joined a multi-state lawsuit against the Biden Administration for a move to withhold nutrition assistance for schools which do not comply with a rule addressing sex discrimination concerning sexual orientation and gender identity. O’Connor contends the rule would hurt vulnerable children while promoting gender identity politics.

“The Biden Administration wants to force every State to adopt its radical agenda, and to punish those financially who do not comply,” said O’Connor. “The guidance threatens to take away those children’s meals unless the local schools adopt a pro-transgender agenda. This is just another example of Biden bullying Americans by attacking our children.”

The USDA, which is named in the lawsuit, issued a rule earlier this year which impacts nutritional program funding for schools which did not comply. Several Attorneys General asked the USDA and President Biden to withdraw the rule last month.

Because that did not happen, 22 states, including Oklahoma are suing to keep the regulation from going into effect.

The State of Tennessee is leading the lawsuit where it was filed in the Eastern District.
