Children’s Transgender Reassignment Takes Spotlight in Special Session

While most of the bills allotting more than a billion dollars in federal relief funds passed without much fanfare, Senate Bill 3XX took the spotlight during Thursday’s special session for the Legislature. While it provides money for University of Oklahoma medical facility projects, it carries a prohibition on providing transition services to transgender children. The Legislature also passed $20 million in additional emergency drought relief.

The measures head to the governor’s desk.
