Governor’s Race Tightens

A new poll released by Amber Integrated on Monday shows that Governor Kevin Stitt is in a dead heat with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister in the 2022 governor’s race. The poll indicates Stitt has 45.3% of voters saying they will vote for him or are leaning toward voting for him. The figure for Hofmeister is 45.9%. Libertarian Natalie Bruno and Independent Ervin Yen have a combined four percent in the poll.

The Amber Integrated poll also shows a swing in the State Superintendent race between Republican Education Secretary Ryan Walters and Democrat teacher Jena Nelson. Walters now leads Nelson 52% to 43% with Walters making improvements among Republicans, Independents, and Women since the initial Amber Integrated/KOCO 5 poll.

All the other Republicans in statewide races are enjoying double digit leads over their Democrat opponents.

Amber Integrated conducted the poll from October 13 – 15, 2022, of a pool of 500 likely voters. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.4%.
