Lankford Wants Increased Technology at Border

During Wednesday’s U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee hearing focused on modernizing the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) older I.T. systems. He asked DHS Chief Information Officer Eric Hysen about the work being done to bring systems up to date to enhance border law enforcement and immigration.

Lankford’s questions ranged from how modernizing processes to a digital format, so agencies have quicker access to vital information, interoperability between agencies dealing with border and immigration issues, and increasing communication capabilities near the southern border.
