Lankford Tries to Get “Prevent Government Shutdowns Act” to Senate Floor

On Wednesday, as the U.S. Senate considered a “mini” bus appropriations bill, U.S. Senator James Lankford tried to run his proposal to end government shutdowns.

During his speech calling for the vote on the “Prevent Government Shutdowns Act”, Lankford outlined what service members are doing to prepare their families for a possible government shutdown as they get ready to deploy overseas.

The speech fell short of getting enough Senators to add it to the appropriations bill.
