State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters doesn’t believe the Tulsa School Board is taking its issues seriously by making permanent Dr. Ebony Johnson, who has been the interim superintendent since the beginning of the school year.
Tulsa World’s Andrea Eger writes Walters says he would welcome a close partnership with Dr. Johnson moving forward, “TPS is barreling toward drastic action being taken because the district has been unable to make the tough decisions necessary to turn the district around.”
Walters called for the Tulsa School Board to perform an extensive nationwide search for a superintendent.
