There maybe a breakthrough in the negotiations for increased border security between Senate Republicans, the White House, and Senate Democrats. U.S. Senator James Lankford is the lead Republican in the talks.
He appeared on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom on Tuesday saying progress was being made.
Lankford said that part of the progress is getting Democrats to acknowledge that the border crisis is a national security issue. Lankford is looking to fix policy loopholes that are being exploited by criminal cartels to smuggle people into the U.S.
