Opioid Abatement Grant Application Process Begins

Those political subdivisions who are eligible to share in $23 million in grant funds can expect an application from the Office of the Attorney General soon. On Wednesday, the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board approved launching the application process.

The AG’s office will send the applications to the 250 eligible entities that submitted their letters of intent. That includes 64 Oklahoma counties, 69 municipalities, 101 school districts, four career technology centers and eight public trusts.

The funding for the grants comes from opioid lawsuit settlements.

Applications are due March 8, 2024. The grants are expected to be awarded the following month.
