Cole Blasts Biden Administration for Pausing LNG Decisions

Natural gas producers who have an application pending to export Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) won’t get a decision from the U.S. Department of Energy anytime soon. That’s because the Biden Administration has announced a temporary pause on pending decisions for exports of LNG until the DOE evaluates the impacts of LNG exports on energy costs, energy security, and climate change.

The decision does not have Congressman Tom Cole’s support.

“The Biden Administration’s utterly outrageous decision today is just one more of many short-sighted calls that will be detrimental to our country and our European allies at a time when we need to be maximizing the production of our plentiful American energy,” said Cole. “Many nations depend on our energy production, and this is putting their security at risk as tensions from adversaries are on the rise. Moreover, this is deeply unfair to our own energy industry and the American consumer. The Biden Administration is yet again succumbing to environmental groups and the far-left faction of the Democratic Party by working against our own American companies and workforce.”
