Treat Holds Special Session Open, No Action Taken by Senate as Promised

Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat is holding open the third special session of the 59th Oklahoma Legislature which was called by Governor Kevin Stitt a week before the regular session is set to begin.

Tulsa World’s Randy Krehbiel and Melissa Jacques write both the Senate and the House convened on Monday to consider a .25 percentage point personal income tax rate cut.

Treat says his caucus wants the final revenue figures before passing a tax cut.

The House plans to meet Tuesday and Wednesday to continue the process of voting on the tax cut bill.
