Supreme Court Rules Legislature Has Power to Compact with Tribes

The Oklahoma Supreme Court released its decision in the suit filed by Governor Kevin Stitt against the Oklahoma Legislature for extending certain compacts with tribal nations saying lawmakers had the right to take that action.

The Oklahoman’s Molly Young writes the majority of the Court sided with the Legislature. It found that lawmakers did not break the rules when they passed two compact bills during a special session.
