Kidd Decides Against Running for Reelection to Senate

Senator Chris Kidd decided he would not run for reelection, but instead return home when his term expires in November. Kidd served as chair of the Senate Agricultural and Rural Affairs Committee.

Kidd worked on various pieces of legislation throughout his time in the Oklahoma Senate. He helped secure passage of the Oklahoma Research and Development Attractions Act to help bring more research and development companies to Oklahoma. Kidd also helped pass legislation to extend a sales tax exemption to military widows whose spouse was killed in action.

“Working for the citizens of Oklahoma has been one of the most rewarding, fulfilling, and humbling experiences of my life,” said Kidd. “I take great pride in the accomplishments we made for our state during my tenure, but now I look forward to spending more time at home with my family.”

Kidd says that he is returning to his southern Oklahoma ranch.
