During Tuesday’s U.S. Senate Finance Committee hearing, entitled “Chaos and Control: How Trump Criminalized Women’s Health Care,” U.S. Senator James Lankford pointed out the rhetoric around abortion could also be keeping women from accessing health care.
During the hearing, Lankford asked former Texas Assistant Solicitor General and current partner in the Hacker Stephens LLP law firm, Heather Hacker a series of questions about whether or not miscarriages or removing ectopic pregnancies have been criminalized in any state. He also voiced his concern that women may not be seeking the health care they need because of the rhetoric around abortion.
