Echols Wins FOP, Firefighters Unions Support for OK AG Bid

It appears that former Oklahoma House Floor Leader Jon Echols’ campaign for Oklahoma Attorney General is gaining early momentum with the endorsements of the Oklahoma State Fraternal Order of Police, the Oklahoma City Professional Firefighters Association, Local 157, and the Professional Firefighters of Oklahoma. Echols’ campaign secured the endorsements of 18 Sheriffs.

“I am running to be the chief law enforcement officer in the State of Oklahoma and having the support of so many amazing first responders is important for this job and is very humbling on a personal level,” Jon Echols said.

Echols served as the House Majority Floor Leader for eight years in the Oklahoma Legislature.

So far, Echols is the only publicly declared campaign for Attorney General’s Office to have filed with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission.

The Oklahoma City Republican is seeking the Republican nomination for a chance to succeed current AG Gentner Drummond, who is seeking the governor’s office during the 2026 elections.
