In a state capitol event which drew both supporters and distractors, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced a series of steps to “Make Oklahoma Healthy Again.” It is part of a wider movement to remove red dyes and other possible hazardous additives from food, stop recommending fluoride be used in public drinking water systems, and restricting the use of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to purchase sodas and candy.
Oklahoma Voice’s Janelle Stecklein writes that the Oklahoma Alliance for Healthy Families were on hand protesting some of RFK, Jr’s policy stances, including immunization skepticism which was not mentioned during the Secretary’s speech on Thursday.
