Board of Education Wants Role in Reducing Emergency Certifications

The Oklahoma State Board of Education is seeking a way to be involved in reforms to reduce the number of emergency certifications for teachers to fill empty positions.

Tulsa World’s Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton writes board members called for the Board to be involved in reform efforts.

So far for this academic year, the Board has approved 3,590 emergency certifications.
