Child Care Group Sues State to Continue COVID Era Subsidy

The Licensed Child Care Association of Oklahoma is suing the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to keep a COVID-era subsidy program going. DHS stopped paying a $5 per child, per day subsidy for school-age children to providers because the agency said the federal funding had been exhausted.

Oklahoma Voice’s Emma Murphy writes the lawsuit contends DHS did not follow the proper process to end the subsidies.
