Oklahoma’s first black House Speaker is calling out President Joe Biden for invoking “Jim Crow” in his characterization of Georgia’s new election law. T.W. Shannon believes Biden should apologize for using the analogy.
In his Washington Examiner op-ed, Shannon outlined how Biden framed Georgia election reforms as meant to prevent black Americans from voting. He points out that the new law does not limit voting hours and cuts back on weekend voting.
Shannon also wrote that Oklahoma’s voter ID law has not reduced the number of black voters in Oklahoma.
