Poll Indicates Early Lead for Stitt in Governor’s Campaign

While the General Election is still more than a year away, an early poll indicates Governor Kevin Stitt has an early lead in the 2022 Governor’s Race. Amber Integrated polled 500 registered voters last week showing that 49 percent of those polled will either vote for or are leaning toward voting for Stitt in the General Election.

Voters have a favorable impression of Stitt at 46 percent of those polled. Thirty seven percent have an unfavorable opinion of him.

Voters have a 30 percent favorable impression of Superintendent Joy Hofmeister, who recently declared she will run for governor as a Democrat. She has a 27 percent unfavorable rating among polled voters. However, it appears she would win the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary against former State Senator Connie Johnson who faces an uphill battle with 62 percent of voters claiming to have never heard of her.

Going head to head, Stitt has the General Election lead as mentioned earlier with 49 percent. Hofmeister would receive 33 percent. Eighteen percent of voters polled say they are currently undecided.

The survey’s margin of error is 4.38% at a 95% confidence interval.
