Hern, Brecheen Share Thoughts on Vance as Trump VP

Former President Trump on Monday named his running mate for the 2024 presidential election. Ohio U.S. Senator J.D. Vance was announced as the Republican National Convention got underway in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Vance sat with Trump in his family viewing box as the former President made his first public appearance since the attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13th.

Congressman Kevin Hern, who currently chairs the Republican Study Committee, has worked with Vance on that committee and pieces of legislation. He approves of Trump’s pick.

“Senator JD Vance is a champion for conservative values and I am proud to have partnered with him on multiple critical issues in Congress. JD has been integral to the bicameral work of the Republican Study Committee and was one of the first Senators to join RSC’s bicameral efforts last year. Together, we have worked to introduce legislation that aligns with our shared vision of putting America First. I look forward to continuing this work with JD in his new role,” said Hern.

Congressman Josh Brecheen also worked on legislation with Vance last year. He believes the Ohio Senator will take action on the crisis at the southern border with Mexico.

“Senator JD Vance is committed to securing our border and putting American citizens first. It has been an honor to work with Senator Vance during my first term in office and I look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role,” said Brecheen.
