Drummond Files Appeal to Immigration Law Preliminary Injunction

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond wants the federal courts to reconsider last month’s preliminary injunction keeping House Bill 4156 from being enforced. That’s the state’s new immigration reform law which makes it a crime to be an undocumented person in Oklahoma.

Drummond argues that the law is necessary because of the lack of border security due to mismanagement by the Biden Administration.

“The Biden Administration’s complete and utter failure to address the border crisis has given Oklahoma no option but to take steps necessary to ensure public safety,” he said. “House Bill 4156 is a powerful tool to counter criminal activity largely being fueled by illegal immigrants coming to our state.”

The appeal was filed with the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
