Bashore Named to National Gaming Council Executive Committee

Oklahoma Representative Steve Bashore has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States, a bipartisan organization that helps shape discussions on gaming policy and regulation across the country.

The executive committee serves as the governing body for the organization, which brings together state lawmakers to examine legislative and regulatory issues affecting the gaming industry.

Bashore said the appointment gives Oklahoma a voice in national discussions while providing an opportunity to learn from lawmakers in other states.

“I’m honored to both bring Oklahoma’s perspective as a gaming compact state to the table and to learn from other national legislators who have devoted years of study to the issues surrounding gaming in their own states,” Bashore said.

Bashore serves as deputy floor leader in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and previously worked as general manager of Buffalo Run Casino & Resort in northeast Oklahoma. His legislative district includes several tribal casinos, and he said his experience with Oklahoma’s tribal gaming compacts will help him serve on the committee.
