U.S. Senator James Lankford questioned former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing examining the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lankford asked Fauci about the closure of churches during the pandemic, internal notes discussing the possible origins of COVID-19, China’s handling of information related to the virus and lessons for future international research cooperation.
Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in response to each of Lankford’s questions.
