Dave Rader Makes It Official

rader1Former University of Tulsa head coach Dave Rader officially filed his Republican candidacy paperwork for State Senate District 39 on Wednesday, a district that will be vacated by Senator Brian Crain due to term limits.

Rader announced his candidacy last October and says he’s been encouraged by the groundswell of support he’s received from voters in Senate District 39.

“Public service has never been more important, and I will be entering this race humbled by the opportunity to serve, and eager to share the optimism of an exceptional future for our grand land,” said Rader. “Tulsa is our home and has always been the place I was ‘from.’ Now it is time for me to serve this community that means so much.”

“Meeting with folks throughout Senate District 39 has reaffirmed my belief that jobs, education, and transportation are critically important topics that are at or near the top of everyone’s mind,” added Rader. “Person after person tells me they know we can do better, and I believe that we must do better before we can honestly say ‘you’re doin’ fine Oklahoma.’  I am committed to creating a better and brighter Oklahoma and will be dedicated to achieving that in the State Senate if I am fortunate to be elected.”

Rader has served as a board member on non-profit agencies including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and currently serves as a board member with John 3:16 Mission where the restoration of lives is goal of the mission.

Rader lives in Tulsa with his wife of over 37 years, Janet. They have 3 children; Daniel, honorably discharged as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy with a Mechanical Engineering degree from OSU and now working at John Zink Company in Tulsa, and is married to Deidra, and parents to twins Jett & Jax; Jordan, PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology living in New Jersey, and is married to Emily, and parents to J.D.; and Kendal, a graduate from TCU with a Speech Pathology degree and the University of Tulsa with her Masters, and now employed by Little Lighthouse. Rader and his wife Janet attend First Baptist Church of Tulsa where he serves as Deacon and Bible study leader.
