Emerson Announces Run for Senate District 37

Dr. Chris Emerson is running for the open Senate District 37 seat in the Tulsa metro. Emerson is an anesthesiologist.

“I chose medicine as a profession as a means to positively impact lives across our local community – I have spent a lifetime helping families, children and senior citizens, caring for and interacting with people from all walks of life. Now, the same families I’ve cared for are facing even more challenges. They share with me the rising stressors of high inflation, gas prices, providing for the family, and recognizing the loss of freedom and opportunity. I am seeking to take my knowledge, my demonstrated long term and broad based volunteerism in helping others,  and keen understanding of how people are impacted by legislation, to be an effective advocate for our entire community,” said Emerson in his campaign announcement.

Emerson graduated from Putnam City West High School and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He’s been involved with the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Boy Scouts of America.

Senator Cody Rogers decided not to run for re-election next year making District 37 an open seat.

The primary is set for June 18, 2024.
