Bice Joins Effort to Close Campaign Finance Loophole

Congresswoman Stephanie Bice has signed onto as a co-author of the Secure Handling of Internet Electronic Donations (SHIELD) Act to close a loophole that allows political committees to accept donations from a credit or debit card without requiring a CVV or billing address.

“As we wait to hear from the FEC about political entities like ActBlue, which do not require CVV verification and allow donations from pre-paid credit cards and gift cards, Congress must act. The SHIELD Act is an important step in closing these loopholes and preventing fraud in campaign donations, regardless of party,” Bice said in a statement.

Bice is joining primary author Congressman Bryan Steil of Wisconsin in the effort.
