A SuperPac promoting Congressman James Lankford reported spending $96,923 on a Tulsa television buy to boost his race for the U.S. Senate.
The First Amendment Alliance Education Fund also has placed a tv ad schedule in the Oklahoma City market; the sum isn’t yet known.
Former Speaker T.W. Shannon, who is opposing Lankford, has had a group supporting him known as Oklahomans for a Conservative Future which has spent in excess of $300,000.
The race began with Lankford holding a substantial lead in name identification and support. It has tightened significantly following a media barrage by Shannon.
Former Senator Randy Brogdon, also in the race, appears to have little significant support; while Lankford and Shannon are seen in television commercials, Brogdon is silent.
