Morgan Conspiracy Charge Dismissed

Staff

Federal prosecutors today dismissed a conspiracy charge against the former  Senate President Pro Tem Mike Morgan. He still faces bribery, extortion and mail fraud charges.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott  Williams dismissed the conspiracy charge after U.S.  District Judge Robin Cauthron dropped conspiracy counts against two others  involved in the case, lobbyist Andrew Skeith and lawyer Martin Stringer.

Morgan’s attorney, David  Ogle, filed a motion for a mistrial and Stringer’s attorney, Drew  Neville, joined in on the request. Cauthron took the motion under advisement  until she hears some of the defense testimony.
