State House Communications Division Media Director Ray Carter is now an editorial writer for The Oklahoman. He joined the newspaper’s staff last week.
Carter has served as Media Director in the House since late 2004. Prior to that, he was a beat reporter for the Journal Record and served for two sessions as the paper’s Capitol Bureau reporter. His first stint at the Capitol occurred in 1999 while working for a bill-tracking service .
Carter will be replaced by Jason Sutton, who cames to the House from the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.
Carter and his wife, Jennifer (former chief of staff for Superintendent of Schools Janet Barresi), are parents of 9-month-old Jessie.
