There was no discussion or debate on Thursday among the Oklahoma Board of Education members and State Superintendent Ryan Walters when they approved a pair of rules which target school library content and requirements for schools to disclose information about students to parents.
Tulsa World’s Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton writes Walters says the rules are in response to parents across the state who feel laws are not being upheld in the classroom.
The rules still need to be approved by the Oklahoma Legislature and Governor Kevin Stitt before they can go into effect.
