Congressman Tom Cole led a House delegation to the Middle East to speak with leaders there about strengthening ties and finding ways to achieve piece in the rising conflicts between Israel and Iran-backed proxies. The delegation visited leaders from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
Cole and the other lawmakers discussed reinforcing strategic alliances and regional cooperation with Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
During the visit with Israeli leaders, the group was briefed on the military campaigns against Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Iranian backed proxies. They reaffirmed the U.S.-Israeli relationship was unbreakable.
The group also paid a visit to the memorial for victims killed in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel which took more than 1,100 lives.
The final stop for Cole and the delegation was to the officers and crew of a U.S. warship protecting the Mediterranean.
