Oklahoma’s Foster Care System Released from Federal Oversight

For 13 years Oklahoma’s foster care system was under increased federal scrutiny as part of the settlement of a class action lawsuit. On Thursday, a federal judge released the State of Oklahoma from that increased supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services program.

Oklahoma Voice’s Barbara Hoberock writes that state leaders say this shows Oklahoma is on the right track, but the focus on the well-being of foster children must continue.
