State Treasurer Todd Russ and Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond are at odds again. On Tuesday, Russ issued a statement claiming that Drummond is overstepping his authority and that clear constitutional boundaries between the Treasurer’s job and the duties of the Attorney General’s Office.
KOKH Fox 25 reports Russ and Drummond are at odds over the AG Office’s decision not to defend the Oklahoma Energy Discrimination Elimination Act (EDEA).
Drummond fired back saying that it was the Treasurer’s misjudgment which required his office to take action.
Drummond recently sent a letter to Russ concerning the execution of an investment by the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) which also scolded Russ for certain actions he took without the AG’s approval.
