Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed a lawsuit against Governor Kevin Stitt, School Freedom Fund Oklahoma and unnamed defendants, alleging an advertisement about his gubernatorial campaign contains false and defamatory statements.
The lawsuit, filed in Osage County District Court, centers on an advertisement that describes Drummond as “America’s Wokest RINO” and claims he directed public funds to an organization that helps children transition genders without parental consent. Drummond alleges those claims are false and were intended to damage his reputation ahead of the Republican primary election.
According to the petition, Drummond argues the advertisement falsely links him to funding provided to the Diversity Center of Oklahoma. The lawsuit states the certification cited in the advertisement was granted under a prior attorney general and was later revoked by Drummond’s office. The petition also disputes claims that Drummond hosted a “trans queen story time” event, calling the allegation completely false.
The lawsuit alleges Stitt and the political action committee worked together to produce and disseminate the advertisement. Drummond points to a fundraiser held at the Governor’s Mansion earlier this year and claims the ad was part of an effort to defeat his campaign for governor.
Drummond is seeking more than $75,000 in damages, punitive damages to be determined at trial, attorney fees and court costs.
Stitt and the other defendants have not yet responded to the lawsuit. The petition was filed May 27, 2026.
