Echols Earns Endorsement from Oklahoma Faith Leaders President

Republican attorney general candidate Jon Echols has received the endorsement of Paul Abner, president of Oklahoma Faith Leaders.

Abner cited Echols’ record on several conservative policy issues, including abortion, religious liberty and transgender-related legislation.

“Jon has fought for key values and issues that matter to people of Faith in Oklahoma,” Abner said. “He fought with us as we ended surgical abortions in Oklahoma, protected children and girls from the radical transgender agenda, and put a stop to any future attempts at shutting down Houses of Worship during ’emergencies.'”

According to the organization, Oklahoma Faith Leaders represents nine faith groups and more than one million Oklahomans and works to engage people of faith in public policy issues.

Echols said his faith has played a central role in his public service and pledged to continue advocating for conservative policies if elected attorney general.

“It is my belief that we need an Attorney General who will stand for what is right and isn’t afraid of the blowback that comes with that,” Echols said. “My record shows I am the proven conservative in the race for AG who will successfully do that.”

Echols, a former House floor leader, is seeking the Republican nomination for attorney general. He is facing Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment Jeff Starling in the Republican primary.
