Stitt Requires Travelers from Six States to Self-Quarantine, Takes Other Measures

Governor Kevin Stitt wants travelers from six states to self-quarantine for 14 days to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, so he has once again amended Executive Order 2020-07. People who have been in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California, Louisiana and Washington are being asked to comply with the order.

This comes as the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports that as of Sunday there are 429 positive cases identified in Oklahoma. The death toll rose by one to 16; an Oklahoma County man between 50 and 64 years old. One hundred forty people have been hospitalized with COVID-19.

Additionally, the State Health Department has expanded its partnerships with private labs to increase testing.

The amended order also put into place restrictions from discrimination in housing or childcare against health care workers, and requires delivery personnel to submit to screenings upon request at hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities and day cares.

“Our health care workers are the true heroes in this fight against COVID-19,” said Stitt. “These protections will continue to keep them and their families safe as they work to take care of their fellow Oklahomans.”
