CNN’s Dana Bash recently tweeted that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham spent time with former President Donald Trump making phone calls of encouragement to Republicans who will be facing an election soon. Bash writes that Graham did not identify who was called.
The McCarville Report did reach out to U.S. Senator James Lankford’s campaign to find out if he received such a call from Trump and Graham. Lankford will stand for re-election in 2022.
The campaign says Lankford did not receive a call of encouragement, but is still secure in President Trump’s support of him.
Lankford and Trump are scheduled to speak at this weekend’s CPAC annual conference.
His time is up regardless of a receiving a phone call or not.
