Marlatt: No Contest To ‘Actual Physical Control’ Charge

marlattWOODWARD – An Oklahoma Senator is pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge Actual Physical Control.

In December 2014, Oklahoma State Senator Bryce Marlatt says he had a mixed drink at his office before driving home.

According to Woodward News, Marlatt told officials that when he became concerned about being sleepy, he pulled his vehicle off the road and parked.

A short time later he was approached by a deputy.

He was charged with Actual Physical Control of a Vehicle Under the Influence.

“I am pleased to put this behind me and look forward to continuing to serve the people of District 27,” Marlatt told the Woodward News.

The State Senator paid more than $1,500 in fines associated with the charge.

He is also sentenced to one year deferred and placed on probation.

    You don’t have to be under the influence the way I understand it. If you go to sleep behind the wheel, pulled over but your keys within your reach, you may be charged. At least, that’s what someone told me. True?
