Holt Reports 4-to-1 Cash Advantage Over Maughan in OKC Mayor’s Race

The two candidates for Mayor of Oklahoma City have filed their initial fundraising reports, with Senator David Holt raking in the most money by far.

With $140,557 in cash on hand, Holt has opened a wide lead over Oklahoma County Commissioner Brian Maughan, who reported having $33,774.34 in the bank.

Maughan entered the race February 22nd.   Holt entered the race February 27th.  The reports cover all fundraising activity through March 31st, which was the end of the first quarter of 2017.

Holt raised $142,841 in donations from 157 donors, while Maughan raised $40,425.67 in donations from 68 donors.

Notable donors to Maughan include Rep. Kevin Calvey and Oklahoma County Court Clerk Rick Warren.

Meanwhile, Holt reported contributions from several well-known Oklahoma City business and political leaders.

Notable donors to Holt include Devon co-founder Larry Nichols, Cox Communications president Percy Kirk, Greater Oklahoma City Chamber Chair Rhonda Hooper, City Councilwoman Meg Salyer, former U.S. Congressman Dan Boren, former City Councilman and Rep. Guy Liebmann, former City Councilwoman Ann Simank, Oklahoma City University President Robert Henry, “Let’s Fix This” founder Andy Moore, television writer Nancy Miller, Francis Tuttle Superintendent Tom Friedemann, ACM@UCO CEO Scott Booker, BancFirst executives Gene Rainbolt and David Rainbolt, OKC Energy owner Bob Funk, Jr., former OKCPS school board member Joe Clytus, YWCA CEO Jan Peery, Inasmuch CEO Bob Ross, President of Love’s Development Company Greg Love.

The election to decide Oklahoma City’s next Mayor will be held February 13, 2018.
