Montgomery Declares for Senate District 32 Race

Lawton native and Republican Representative John Michael Montgomery announced Tuesday his bid for Senate District 32.

“As your State Senator, I will continue striving for our state to realize a vision of prosperity and success that I have been fighting for as your State Representative,” Montgomery said. “I am a common man with the common-sense values that make our community strong. I’ve been a champion for our area schools, jobs and values and will continue do so in the State Senate.”

A graduate of Eisenhower High School and the University of Oklahoma, Montgomery recognizes the importance of our public schools and co-authored a statewide pay raise for Oklahoma teachers.

“Our public schools are hurting,” Montgomery said. “As a product of our area public school system, I’ll fight for our teachers, our students and our area schools to ensure they get the funding the need and the support they deserve.”

Montgomery was born and raised in Lawton where he lives today with his wife, Kylee.

SD 32 is currently held by Democrat Randy Bass who is term limited in 2018. He has held the seat since 2004.
