Fetgatter Proposes Recreational Marijuana Plan to Help Bridge Budget Shortfall

Oklahoma Representative Scott Fetgatter is in the early stages of a proposal to legalize the recreational, adult use of marijuana and funnel the tax money into the general fund.

Tulsa World’s Samantha Vicent writes Fetgatter says the idea is worth exploring as lawmakers ready themselves to deal with budget shortfalls due to the COVID-19 outbreak and an oil price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Fetgatter says it could potentially add $100 million to budget coffers.
