Using his five minutes of Q&A with Treasury Secretary nominee Scott Bessent during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, U.S. Senator James Lankford asked President-elect Donald Trump’s pick about his stances on tax policy and energy production.
Lankford discussed the impact on small businesses if the Trump tax cuts are not extended. He also queried Bessent on his stance for energy production.
Bessent said he favors lifting constraints on U.S. domestic oil and natural gas production to make up for losses due to international sanctions.
