Moore Board of Education President Erin Morrison is declaring her intention to run for the Oklahoma Senate District 24 Seat. That’s the seat currently held by Senator Darrell Weaver. He recently declared his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor.
Moore is a Republican who says that her experience in education and business will give her the tools to serve Oklahomans in the State Senate.
“Having served on the Moore Board of Education since 2021, currently as President, I’ve been fighting for our schools to have the resources they need—because strong schools build strong communities. In the State Senate, I will continue that fight, defending local control and championing policies that empower parents and educators.
“With a 25 year background in accounting and small business, I know how to balance budgets and cut waste. Taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability at every level of government,” Morrison said in her statement announcing her candidacy.
